Cake Dummies

All of our cake dummies and their packaging are made from Expanded Polystyrene (EPS)

Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) is 100% recyclable and thousands of tonnes are recycled every year in the UK. And turned into items like beach huts, picnic benches, picture frames and cake dummies!

EPS is made up of 98% air, making it a uniquely resource-efficient material.  The closed cell structure captures air to create an incredibly lightweight, protective, insulating material with a low carbon footprint

When EPS cannot be recycled and has to go to land fill the EPS aerates the soil, encouraging plant growth on reclaimed sites. Whilst it does not degrade, it will not contaminate the ground water or form any methane gas making it harmless to the ozone layer.

In 2018, 52% of the UK’s polystyrene packaging production was recycled

We recycle 100% of our clean EPS waste.

 

Bubble Wrap & Plastic Wrap

The bubble wrap and black plastic stretch wrap we use is 100% recyclable.

Some councils offer houshold recycling collection for these items but it is very limited.

They can be recycled along with carrier bags at collection points usually found at your local supermarket.
